Lee M. Wilkins, Bio (Violin):
Violinist Dr. Lee Murray Wilkins, born in Anchorage, Alaska, returns to Anchorage from Rochester, New York where he held the position of Senior Instructor of Violin and Associate Professor of Violin and String Pedagogy at the Eastman School of Music and performed with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra as violinist and soloist.

Auditions will be scheduled throughout the school year to fill necessary spaces within the orchestra. Please contact us about current openings.
Most auditions for the Anchorage Youth Symphony and Anchorage Youth Symphony Repertory Orchestra will take place in May 2012 on a first come, first serve basis. Every musician must audition each year. A parent signature and $15 audition fee are required before an audition is performed. Auditions are about 7 minutes long.

Anchorage Youth Philharmonic Overview
The Anchorage Youth Philharmonic is an advanced, symphonic orchestra composed of members who demonstrate through audition that they have excellent technical and musical ability. The size of the AYP may vary according to the number of musicians who audition. During the debut 2010-2011 season, it is anticipated that the AYP may share members of the Anchorage Youth Symphony where the musical repertoire requires additional performers. Members of the AYP will typically be students in grades 9 – 12, will rehearse weekly, and will receive both group and individual coaching throughout the season.
The AYP will perform at least three concerts during the year, including concert performances at the Alaska Center for Performing Arts with the Anchorage Youth Symphony and at other selected venues in Anchorage.
